Board of Trustees are charged with the management of our church property. Those who join this board are often involved in providing for the repair and maintenance of our building and grounds. They also do financial planning for the annual budget and the long range needs of our facilities.
The Board seeks those who have some on site, hands on, task oriented gifts, skills and abilities. It also looks for people with a mature and responsible business sense who are dedicated to the life and work of the church in terms of its physical resources.
In early Christian communities those who were elected to assist in the worship and service ministries of the church were known as Deacons. Here at TUCC our Deacons are charged with promoting the fellowship life of the church as well as assisting in worship planning in the life of the church.
Deacons plan the fellowship hour after worship and serve several dinners during the year they are also active in the preparation and serving of communion, ministries of pastoral care, the visitation of members, providing for music, ushers, acolytes, greeters, and flowers at worship services.
If you have a concern for worship and/or are handy in the kitchen this board may be of interest to you.
As you might expect, this board provides for the educational programs of our church. In doing so they plan programming, seek out Teachers for our Sunday School, look at Curriculum, Materials and other Resources as well as provide for special programs of nurture and witness in the community. If you have gifts which help children and others to grow in their faith, have some enthusiasm, new ideas and/or leadership abilities, this board’s for you!

Remember, the one who sows abundantly will reap abundantly, each of us should give not simply out of duty or grudgingly for God loves one who gives from the abundance of a cheerful heart and God the Great Giver is able to supply all that you need. Cor. 9: 6-8
Our board believes that every Christian is called to be a good steward, or one who takes care of the good gifts God has given. Our talents and abilities, our health, wealth and resources are the concerns of this board of the church. Our board is charged with promoting the stewardship of the congregation’s talents and resources. Therefore we provide for an annual stewardship drive, as well as oversee memorials and bequests.
Mission and Outreach
This board seeks to plan for programs of outreach to the community and knowledge of Christian mission around the world. It prepares and promotes the annual mission budget and oversees local outreach projects such as the Fisherman’s Net. This board also works with the pastor in promoting the image of the church and in reaching out and giving welcome to new members.
If you are a person committed to the ministry of the Church beyond its walls and are enthused about our churches life and mission then you might want to know more about serving on this board.
You are the people of God... clothe yourselves then in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience - be tolerant and forgive one another, just as God has forgiven you. And to these qualities add Love which binds our lives together in unity of spirit. Col.12-14
This board is responsible for the care and keeping of those who work with us and for us as a congregation. Our main goal is to provide quality ongoing communication between our pastor, our staff and our people. We meet each month in order to continue to build faithful lines of communication between Pastor and people.
